PokerForPets is a team of people and a network of sponsors devoted to funding local animal rescues. PFP will host a No-Limit Texas Hold-em Tournament each month to benefit a different Alachua County animal rescue group. 100% of your Buy-In, less PayPal fees, will be donated directly to the spokesperson of said rescue group at the start of every tournament.
We all have important values and ideas; things we care about and want to do. The PFP Team believes that Alachua County does not need another rescue group. We need to better fund the ones that already exist.
Here at "Pokerforpets.org" our goal is to raise money that is desperately needed to help local self-funded rescue groups make ends meet and brighten the future for rescue animals. Rescue groups give homeless pets a chance at a quality life. So, if you think you've got what it takes or just want to have fun playing some poker for a good cause, sign up for a tournament and put your money to work for the pets.
Please help make Alachua County Animal Services a No-Kill Shelter. When Animal Services is at its maximum occupancy it relies on the local rescue groups to help with the homeless pet population. If the local groups are poorly funded or don't have the means to provide for these animals, little lives will be shortened due to budget and space. That's a poor outcome for an animal that never made the choice to be here.
We are breeding these animals into existence. If you choose not to spay or neuter your pet, then their offspring are your responsibility. So, now it's time to provide a better future for them. The only way for that to happen is for you to step up and support your local rescue groups. All the homeless pets thank you.
